Frequently asked questions.

Which firewood should I choose?

We stock three premium kiln dried hardwoods — ash, birch, and oak — each with different burning characteristics. Ash is a brilliant all-rounder with a steady flame and consistent heat. Birch lights easily and produces a bright, high-heat flame, ideal for shorter fires or pizza ovens. Oak burns slowly and densely, radiating heat long into the evening. Many customers mix two or three varieties for the best results. Visit our Firewood Types page for a full guide, or get in touch and we'll recommend the right wood for your stove or fireplace.

Why kiln-dried logs?

Kiln dried firewood has a moisture content below 20% and is dry right the way through. This means the logs are ready to burn straight away, free from insects, bacteria, and mould. Because there's less moisture to burn off, kiln dried logs ignite faster, burn hotter, and produce less smoke than seasoned or wet wood. They're also consistent — if you buy in summer and top up mid-winter, you'll receive exactly the same quality product every time.

Why do you sell nets?

We deliver our kiln dried logs in extra large 40-litre nets and take them directly to your log store — free of charge, even over uneven ground or gravel. Nets make the logs easy to store, manageable to carry, and convenient to bring inside to your log basket. Unlike loose or tipped deliveries, your logs arrive neat, dry, and ready to use.

Why does your bulk bag get delivered in 14 nets?

We split our bulk bags into 14 individual nets to make life easier for you. Each net can be safely and comfortably carried into your home one at a time. 14 nets is the equivalent of a standard bulk bag, builders bag, or tonne bag — named for its carrying capacity.

What areas do you deliver to?

We deliver across the New Forest, East Dorset, Bournemouth, Poole, Southampton, Salisbury, and Cranborne Chase. Postcodes covered include BH, PO, SO, and SP. We also have customers in Surrey, Berkshire, and parts of London — so if you're outside our standard area, please get in touch and we'll do our best to help. A small delivery charge may apply.

I'm just outside your delivery area — will you make an exception?

Quite possibly, yes. Please email, call, or WhatsApp us and we'll do our best to assist. There may be a small additional delivery charge depending on your location.

What is the minimum order?

Our minimum order is £65, which qualifies for free delivery within our standard delivery area.

How long will delivery take?

We aim to deliver within 5 working days, though thanks to our extended delivery hours it's often much quicker than that.

Are your logs ready to burn straight away?

Yes. All of our logs are kiln-dried to below 20% moisture content, which means they're ready to burn the moment they arrive. There's no need to store them for months before use like seasoned wood — just stack them in your log store and they're good to go.

Are your logs Woodsure / Ready to Burn certified?

Yes

How should I store my logs?

Store your logs in a dry, well-ventilated space such as a log store, open shed, or garage. Keep them off the ground if possible and protected from rain. Because our logs are already kiln dried, they just need to be kept dry to maintain their quality.
